Faced with a global pandemic and recession, United Way has been collaborating with their partners to meet people where they are — in their communities — with support that ranges from food assistance to help navigating unemployment benefits. United Way has a proven track record of impact: During the first year of Covid-19 alone, they helped over 27,000,000 people live a more dignified life. And this is just one of the ways they providing help to those in need.
United Way’s impact can truly be felt across the globe:
Thanks to the hard work of United Way, the Shanghai Charity Foundation and more than 240 volunteers from nine corporations, 20 new kindergartens have opened their doors to over 20,000 children of migrant workers.
In the Netherlands, Joining Forces match refugee volunteers with an elderly Dutch person. The volunteers regularly connect with their elderly partner via video chat, which introduces the refugee to Dutch culture and helps them practice the language, while creating a bond and opportunity for conversation with their elderly partner.
United Way Worldwide’s drive for action and innovation is providing solutions to strengthen education, financial stability and health. They are helping people stay in their homes, access food, and protect their lives & livelihoods.
